Clases para niños en Madrid

How we verify the facts in this list

Where the facts come from

We read each place’s own website and record what it says about its offer for children: ages, the weekly timetable, prices with their units, languages, trial classes and whether a parent has to stay.

Addresses, map positions and opening hours may also be taken from the place’s Google Maps listing. For sports clubs, membership of a federation may come from the list of clubs that federation publishes.

Each fact is kept with the address of the page, the date it was read and a short quote in the language of that page. Directories, press articles, booking sites, social media pages and reviews are not used as sources.

Source flags

Each source carries one of three flags: published by the place (its own website), Google listing (its entry on Google Maps), federation list (a sports federation’s list of member clubs).

On a place’s page the flag and the date stand beside every fact, so you can tell where it comes from and how old it is.

Facts not published

When the pages we read do not give a fact, the place’s page marks it as not published and the table shows a dash. “Not published” is a statement about our sources and says nothing about the place.

Gaps are never filled by guesswork. A school year such as primero de Primaria is not converted into an age. A price keeps the unit the place prints; the only arithmetic is the ≈ price per class, a package or course price divided by the number of classes it covers.

Class times and opening hours

The table has two time columns. Class times: the days and hours of a class, a care session or a camp day, as the place prints them. Opening hours: when the building is open, often taken from the Google listing.

A place may be open at an hour when no group for a given age meets. A row with opening hours and nothing else goes after the dividing line, under a heading that says so.

The after-school pages use weekdays from 16:00 to 19:00. A class counts when one of its groups starts inside that span; after-school care counts when its hours, extra hours included, cover all of it.

What we do not measure

  • No place, teacher, coach or programme is rated, scored or ranked.
  • No one visits the places; each fact comes from a published source.
  • We do not judge the quality of teaching, coaching or care.
  • Whether a group has places left is not tracked; ask the place.
  • Prices appear as printed, with their unit and date, and are not confirmed with the place.

Right to reply

If you run a listed place and a fact is wrong, missing or out of date, send it through the correction form with a link to the page that shows the right fact.

A correction backed by the place’s own pages is applied at the next update and recorded in the change log. A closed place keeps its page, marked as closed, and leaves every table.

A place can also ask to be taken off the list: choose “Ask to remove a listed place” in the correction form and leave a contact that shows you run it. The place, its page and its rows in the data files are removed within a month.

Dates and updates

The sources of every place are read again within 6 months. Prices published for a period that has ended stay on the place’s page with that period; the filters and the summary line leave them out.

How the site is funded

Places do not pay to be listed, and no payment changes a row or its position, which always follows area and name.

A place’s page may carry one link to Zartrace, a service affiliated with this list and marked as such. Clicks on the contact buttons are counted only as totals, with no personal data.

Open data

The whole list can be downloaded as JSON, one record per place, and as CSV, one row per programme. Both files hold every source, flag and date and state their licence.

Areas, distance and the map

Areas are the districts of the city of Madrid, the municipalities around it and a few neighbourhoods. A branch is filed under the district or municipality whose official boundary, as mapped in OpenStreetMap, contains it, or under a listed neighbourhood when it lies close to that neighbourhood’s centre.

Distance is measured in a straight line from the point you choose to the nearest branch and shown in steps of half a kilometre. Your location is asked for only when you press the button, and it stays in your browser.

Points placed from an address are approximate. The map uses data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
